Recently we enjoyed siting front row at the Oasis show held during Shanghai fashion week, getting a peak at the line up for fall/winter that we will shoot soon. With the show marking the official release of the S/S 12 catalog we shot for Oasis early this year. This month online you will also be able to find our animated and energized S/S 12 campaign for Indochino. April sees the release of our editorial timely entitled Spring Blossoms featuring current looks from LV, Prada, Mami, Celine, Max Mara, Dolce & Gabbana and Christian Dior.

Unfortunately our planned trip to Tokyo in April is postponed to later in the year, but we look forward to New York at the end of May and London in early June.

We are into the 3rd month of 2012 already and it looks like it is shaping up to be a year with quite a bit of traveling. We recently just returned from an excellent time in Milan and Paris and look forward to going to Tokyo at the end of April. In March we can finally reveal our advertisement images for the Conrad Hotel in Dalian.

We also have a few catalog releases with animated images from Aumnie, look book shots from Decoster and a client favourite of ours Indochino. In the current issue of Asian Photography you can find Todd’s article on using shutter priority.

This month we have the release of Indochino’s animated and lighthearted wedding campaign. In editorials we have a black and white fashion story with colour twist in Indonesian Prestige and the cover of En Vie magazine. 2012 has already found us doing some interesting shoots for fashion catalogs and editorial work which we are excited to release in the coming months. For January we take a look at a shoot we did for Blink several months ago which is now released with the much anticipated Spring Summer 2012 collection. Blink Gallery showcases the work of 5 different designers. Our shoots for Blink are two full days of varying fashion imagery aimed at representing the feel of each brand. In editorial releases we have Love me, Love me not shot at the Waterhouse in Shanghai for Vantage magazine.

We also have two blog spots for Todd Anthony Tyler. One featuring our editorial Garden Story on Benjamin Kanarek’s fashion blog BKBLOG and an interview done by Mariella Agapiou for her blog Notes on Allure.

I am sure we are not the only ones over here at Todd Anthony Tyler marvelling at how fast 2011 has passed us by. Hard to believe we only have a few weeks left before being ushered into 2012. We certainly would like to take a moment to say how much we appreciate everyone that we either work with or those who follow our work. You are all a great source of inspiration and without a great team and committed individuals we would not be able to do all that we do. 2011 has proven to be an excellent year, but we have a lot of great things coming up which should prove to make 2012 as equally exciting and creative.

For our final newsletter of the year we have yet another DRINK cover in our series of covers that explore creative and entertaining ways to use liquid in expressing the theme of the magazine. In more commercial work we have the latest lifestyle and sport images from a regular client AUMNIE along with catalog images from a new client who we look forward to working with more in the coming year MAXWIN. We also have our look book images from one of the largest fashion companies in China DECOSTER. Fittingly our last editorial is based on the colour red with one of our favourite models Paulina dressed in fall/winter looks from Giorgio Armani, Gucci, Chanel, Louis Vuitton, Hermes, Pucci and Givenchy.

Several months back we had the great pleasure to shoot NBA star Steve Nash for Indochino. Steve proved to be a star not only on court but also in front of the camera. His personality shone through as he moved and danced on set and happily gave a try to our every suggestion. Finally in November we have the release of the resulting images not only on Indochino’s site but in GQ magazine in the US and Canada. There is never a dull moment at Indochino. We also had a lot of action to shoot when we broke out the mini tramp and had our models striking a pose with each bounce. We also see this month the release of one of our favorite editorials of the year shot on the back streets of Shanghai for something a little different than the popular spots we have shot before.

Late in October Todd was interviewed by Daniel Dunt for his fashion blog “That’s so New York” and Todd’s advert is now out in Select magazine both online and in print.

In October we had cover 13 in our series of covers for DRINK magazine come out featuring the owner of Craft, a cool, hip vodka bar in Shanghai. We also had a couple of editorials with a hot late summer garden shoot with model Sveta wearing looks from Sport Max, Chanel, Gucci and Christian Dior. Equally as sizzling we shot model Julianna in room 1212 at the Peninsula hotel in Shanghai which offers an incredible view of Shanghai’s futuristic Pudong area. Julianna wore current season looks from Louis Vuitton, YSL,Hermes and Marni.Julianna was just so great we also shot her for Indochino in campaign images for their new travel line of suits. What better way for a guy to discover just where all his pockets are?

Back from several weeks of travel and happily right back into shooting. Just before leaving we saw images released from our shoot for Kerry Hotel in Pudong in celebration of the mooncake festival. While off on our travels Indochino launched their new Vincero line and with that our images featuring top model Toms Birkavs. September also saw the release of two fashion editorials, one shot in a pool hall in Shanghai contrasting location with styling from fashion brands Gucci, Dior, Chanel, Prada and Bottega Veneta and the other along with the cover in the latest issue of Vantage magazine entitled Decadance.

August finds us on an extensive bit of travel to Kiev, Toronto, New York,Milan and Paris. We are happy to meet with anyone in these cities to either catch up or make new acquaintances.Before we left Shanghai we had a flurry of shootings and releases. Two very exciting releases were the fashion booklet for Uma Wang which is a great example of Todds personal style as a photographer coupled with some of the latest looks from Uma.Also released was the first issue of a mini book designed by Mark Beard featuring several of Todds most noted images from the last several years.In fashion catalogs,images for the the 2011 F/W line of Yigue are in stores across China and the last fashion editorial for SpringSummer 2011 styled with looks from Sportmax, Max Mara, Chanel, Bottega Veneta and Fendi entitled Just A Girl is released in Fantastics magazine.

In July we are back to fashion in a big way with the release of several much anticipated images. Our two day catalog shoot for BLINK saw us shooting 3 models, 6 lines and 6 different light set ups. The effort was well worth it as we shot some of our strongest fashions catalog images of the year. Another exciting catalog for us to shoot was for CUE. The concept and the designs fit well with the style of Todd Anthony Tyler who also took on full creative direction on the shoot. In men’s wear, the current splash pages of Indochino feature our colors of summer campaign images. In fashion editorials we have a our story Spirited in Fantastics magazine shot in the bamboo forests just out of Shanghai and styled with looks from Chanel, Max Mara, Christian Dior, Loewe and Gucci. In our series of covers for DRINK magazine, the latest cover shoot was held in Beijing where we shot the owner of the clubs Coco banana, LA banana and GT banana pouring a local favorite of green tea and whisky !
