Often I am asked by people to help with their model dreams and I am more than happy to try and give advice or get their faces out there to see how the industry will respond
3 Things I need from people who want to test the waters on a potential modeling career
1 - A clear casting video. Doesn't need to be long and currently easier than ever to do with a smart phone. Have a nice clear background to shoot against - then state your name and height followed be video of your profiles which is done like a headshot, then half shot video of your body and then full shot in which you do a complete 360 turn around. Just a quick simple video to start. If you were a body model or fitness model you would want to have two videos - one in clothing and one in a swimsuit that shows your shape
2 - Clear snap shots/digitals - in the past generally referred to as Polaroids - of yourself - similar to the video - headshot, profiles, half body, full body front and back. Also fairly easily to do with a cell phone camera or digital camera - little suggestion here, realize that most cell phones have a wide angle lens that can cause some distortion and is not always favourable for you - use the portrait mode if you have it or on your digital camera a lens focal length of about 100 mm
3 - A few test shots of yourself - basically the start of your book. Here I highly suggest your get some professional shooting done. Make up, hair, styling and proper photography. If you want to truly give modeling a shot you need to make a small investment into some good photos. I have a lot of people send me poor quality photography of themselves and when I send this to an agent I am not doing you an favours. So do yourself a favour and have some quality images done. At a minimum you will have some nice photos of yourself.
As always, happy to respond to peoples questions here or across my social medias
