There are different types of models which can be confusing at first but make sense once you consider why.
Typically there are runway way models, editorial models, commercial models, lingerie models, fitness models and alternative models.
Runway models tend to have a strict requirement for sizing and height due in part to sample sizes and often have a unique look
Editorial models are often exotic in their look though it does depend on the publication as there are a range of magazines and the models booked for a magazines does depend on the demographic the publication appeals or focuses on. So editorial models may also be more commercial in look
Commercial models generally have a more conventional look and can be less strict than the height requirement for a runway model though commercial models still are in the height range of 176 cm to 180 cm for female models and 183 to 188 cm for male models on average
Lingerie models also have less of a height requirement and not surprisingly are more so booked on body shape and allurement
Fitness models are also not as restricted in height as runway and some commercial models, fitness models tend to be of a more athletic build
In my model career I was more so a commercial model with some crossover with runway, fitness and underwear work
